Funding opportunities for events

4 minute read • Last updated: 25 February 2025

Whether your event is just starting out or growing year on year, having the right financial support is essential. Even after becoming self-sufficient, external funding can be important in supporting growth, new initiatives and adaptations to help your strategic development for the future.

There are a wide range of organisations that can provide funding support for eligible events, and you may wish to approach more than one.  They all have different criteria, and it is important you take the time to understand their objectives, eligibility criteria, and the application processes and timeframes.

Tips when considering funding

Listed below are a few organisations you may wish to consider, but please note:

  • This list is not exhaustive and there may be other organisations in your area or nationally that offer funding at different times or for different purposes.
  • There is no guarantee that a funding application to these or any other funders will be successful.
  • Funds may be open for set periods only so please check deadlines and timescales for what these all cover.
  • Funds may be for specific geographic areas so please make sure your event meets the criteria.
  • Funding may be offered for a specific activity or purpose eg improving your food and drink offering, supporting online promotion etc.
  • Funders will typically require some form of recognition in return for their support eg logo included on websites and other branding opportunities, and a post-event outcome report, so please make sure you can fulfil these terms.
