Types of electric vehicles
- Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) - fully powered by electricity with ranges between 100-400 miles.
- Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) - use both electric motors and traditional engines with a typical range of 20-50 miles on electricity alone.
- Range extender electric vehicles (REEVs) - feature a small engine to charge the battery, not directly powering the vehicle.
